# Is this a good task for AI?
A planning worksheet from i26. Start with the task, then decide whether AI belongs in it.

## Define the task
- The input:
- A useful output:
- Who owns the result:
- How often the task happens:
- Current effort and common errors:

## Consider a simpler approach
Could an existing feature, rule-based workflow, better search, or a clearer process solve it?

## Set boundaries
- What information may the system read?
- Who is allowed to see each source?
- What data must stay in a particular environment?
- What should the system never do on its own?
- Which actions need human approval?

## Build an evaluation set
Collect representative examples of good and bad outputs, missing information, ambiguous questions, and permission boundaries. Keep sensitive information out of test samples unless it is necessary and access is controlled.

## Define a pilot
- One workflow and a small group of users:
- A baseline for comparison:
- How incorrect outputs will be reported:
- Success criteria and the decision to stop or expand:
- Monitoring and the owner after launch:

This worksheet does not replace implementation testing or a data-handling review.
